Shared Ground: Makers, Not Takers

For too long, the political debate on migration and identity has been a deliberate distraction. While we’re encouraged to argue about who “belongs,” the 48 Billionaires are robbing all of us blind.

The “Assimilation” Lie

The old guard, like Bob Katter, talks about “assimilation.” They demand new arrivals shed their identity to fit in. This has failed. It creates division and resentment, doing nothing to address the real economic struggles we all face. It’s a sideshow designed to keep us from looking at the main event: the economic heist.

My Approach: Are You a Maker or a Taker?

My policy is simple. I don’t care where you were born, who you worship, or what language you speak at home. I care about what you do here, on our shared ground.

A Maker is anyone who contributes. The small business owner who works 80 hours a week. The immigrant who starts a new company and hires locals. The nurse, the teacher, the tradesperson. Makers build our community and our economy.

A Taker is a multinational corporation that extracts $53 billion of your gas and pays zero royalties. A Taker is a billionaire who holds more wealth than the poorest 11 million Australians. Takers exploit our resources and our people for private gain.

We will end the “Visa Chain” that allows businesses to be flipped for a quick visa without genuine local investment. My policy requires three years of proven operation before a business can be linked to a visa. We want builders, not speculators. This isn’t about identity politics. It’s about economic integrity.
